Lise Vaugeois is the MPP for Thunder Bay –Superior North.

She was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario as an Ontario NDP Member of Provincial Parliament in June of 2022. Lise serves as the Critic for Seniors as well as the Critic for WSIB & Injured Workers.

MPP Vaugeois moved to Thunder Bay in 1991 to take a position with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra. She completed her PhD in Education at the University of Toronto and since 2013 has been an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Education at Lakehead University teaching both undergraduate and graduate students. In 2014 she took on the directorship of the Gentlemen of Harmony, a men’s a cappella chorus.

Lise has a deep respect for the North and recognizes the disparities and inequities that exist. Her passion for social justice led her to be committed to direct community involvement that included time on the Board of Directors of the Thunder Bay & District Injured Workers Support Group as well as advocacy and engagement with Indigenous, Women’s, anti-racist and anti-poverty movements for over 40 years.

MPP Vaugeois is determined to continue to be a fierce advocate for these vital issues facing Ontarians on behalf of the residents of Thunder Bay—Superior North.
