QUEEN’S PARK – In Queen’s Park today, MPP Lisa Gretzky (Windsor West) called for a provincial budget that invests in Ontarians and charts a new, hopeful path forward for the province:
“Budgets are all about priorities. Tomorrow’s provincial budget is such an important opportunity for us to make strategic investments in public health care, affordable housing, and education – all the things that make Ontario a place where people want to live, work, and build their lives.
Things are not normal in Ontario right now. Housing remains unaffordable and unattainable for many. In Windsor, the Welcome Centre Shelter for Women says that 61 per cent of the people accessing supports are children and youth. That’s a frightening indicator of our future, but this government believes it is acceptable.
The people of Windsor West deserve a government that supports them and takes action to make life better for everyone, not just wealthy PC donors. Ford’s conservatives want the people of Ontario to settle for less. The Ontario NDP are here to demand better.”
