NDP MPPs back enough is enough campaign

Published on February 21, 2023

QUEEN'S PARK - NDP MPP and Labour Critic Jamie West (Sudbury) continued to advocate for workers during Question Period Tuesday. "Workers are fed up and tired of being ignored," said West, echoing the Ontario Federation of Labour's call that 'enough is enough.'

"The Conservatives pretend to support nurses and frontline healthcare workers, even using them as photo-ops during the pandemic. All while underfunding healthcare, freezing their wages and worsening working conditions."

West called on the Premier to do better, saying, "finally listen to Ontario's demands for more public funding for public health care, for an end to the staffing crisis, for the full repeal of Bill 124, and decent wages and working conditions for all workers in the healthcare system."

Thousands of public healthcare supporters are scheduled to stand in solidarity this Thursday. West challenged the Premier, asking whether he would visit these demonstrations or was too concerned about what he would hear from Ontario's frontline healthcare workers he continues to disregard.

Nurses in Ontario are saying: "Enough is enough!" And so are New Democrats!
