QUEENS PARK — Ottawa NDP MPPs Joel Harden and Chandra Pasma issued the following response to Commissioner Paul Rouleau calling out the Ford government's inaction during a weeks-long siege by convoy protesters in Ottawa:
"Commissioner Rouleau's report confirms what has been clear all along: that Doug Ford and his cabinet turned their backs on the people of Ottawa at a moment of crisis.
They chose not to use the resources at their disposal to help Ottawa residents experiencing what the Commissioner found to be an 'unsafe' and 'chaotic' situation.
To add insult to injury, Ford's flimsy excuse for refusing to testify at the Emergencies Act Inquiry was exposed as false.
This isn't leadership, it's spinelessness. People in Ontario deserve better."
